Our Story

Where Tradition Meets Rock

Two generations, a 120-metre tunnel, and a deep passion for hospitality: that's the story of EvaParadise. What began over 50 years ago in the rock of Zermatt, with a visionary idea from Basil and Erika Biner-Imboden, is today a home away from home for young and old. Since 2011, Johannes and Tamara Biner-Huber have carried the second generation forward – looking back with pride and ahead with excitement for what's to come.

The Milestones of Our Passion Project

• 1972 | The Pioneering Spirit: Basil and Erika kick off something truly special in Zermatt – the construction of the 120-metre tunnel with an adjoining 40-metre lift shaft, the first exclusive access of its kind.
• 1975 | The Foundation: House Paradies opens its doors to its first guests.
• 1996 & 1997 | Room to Grow: Following the renovation of the main building and the construction of a second lift shaft, House Paradies B is built.
• 2011 | The Next Generation: Johannes and Tamara take over management, steering the family business into the future with fresh energy and the vision of "Eva".
• 2017 & 2018 | A Fresh Start: The first phase of converting House Paradies into House Eva begins, followed by a comprehensive roof renovation of House Paradies B.
• 2026 | The Vision Complete: The conversion of House Paradies into House Eva is complete! With the new wellness and fitness area, we now offer even more room for the perfect time out in Zermatt.
